  RM woes continue
Week 16

More of the same problems for Real Madrid against 10-man Osasuna, as the two teams ground out a 1-1 draw at the Bernabéu in a match marked by rather vicious tackling and heated tempers. Manager López Caro appeared visibly frustrated by both the play of his team, as well as their loss of composure.

The merengues certainly looked better with Zidane on the pitch, and later with Soldado in place of Baptista (who has been utterly awful thus far), but really the team did not play well. With Zidane not able to start every match, and Roberto Carlos not the player he once was, the team is severely lacking on the left side of the attack, where Robinho simply is not suited (much better on the right). I also do not have much faith in Guti as the holding midfielder. I see him as more of an attacker - again, better as a super-sub - and he does not quite have the motor to be running things in the middle of the pitch.

Two players I would take to build a team: Milosevic and Webo.

------------------
Other games I saw
Villarreal - Getafe..........The yellow submarine got off to a slow start, punctuated by a superb goal by Riki (the whole build up starting with the pass from Pernia was great, though), but were able to get back on track to a deserved 2-1 victory.

Cádiz - Barcelona...........Again, the underdog had the better of play in the opening stages, but eventually ran out of gas as Barcelona put on the pressure. Even without Ronaldinho, once the first goal (great pass by Iniesta to Giuly) fell, the threat posed by the home team was essentially eliminated. The final was 1-3, with the home fans treated to a consolation goal in the dying stages of the match.

Teams that are in form:
Barcelona - no one will stop them
Villarreal - they have to fancy their chances to finish second
Osasuna - such a hard working and tactically sound team - rather violent though!
Deportivo - Valerón is certainly making his case for a re-call to the NT....winners 0-3 at Celta

-----------------
Quite a haul in red cards this weekend, a record 12 handed out, including an incredible 5 in the Rácing-Málaga game alone! Truly some brutal stuff out there.

-----------------
Goal of the week: Has to be Riki's goal for Getafe.
